Curious about Punjabi food in Dubai? Then head over to Kulcha King in Karama (or any of the other branches in Meena Bazar, Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Nahda) and enjoy some reasonably decent Amritsari food. Cost wise the food is affordable and not heavy on your pocket! We ordered three/four food items and did not pay more than AED 100. Definitely a steal, right?
I tried a couple of things here and ended up liking the Aloo Kulchas (comes with Cholay and pickled salad) and Chicken Tikka the best. If you’re going to order the same stuff, don’t forget to squeeze some lemon and sprinkle some chaat masala for that extra kick 😉
They also offer four different types of thaalis and the price varies as per quantity of dishes you want to try. My friend ordered their basic vegetarian thaali called Kesar Ki Thali which includes one Daal of the day, one Vegetable of the day, Paneer Masala, Rice, two Rotis, and Papad. Although the quantity is good for one person, I would still be more comfortable in paying AED 35 to a place like Rasoi Ghar or Maharaja Bhog for unlimited vegetarian thaali instead.
I had heard from people that Kulcha King is one of the best options within Dubai for Punjabi food. However, after also eating similar kind of food at Pind Da Dhaaba, I would like to differ. I think the latter offers a different and more personalized experience. Will write on them soon as well 🙂
